ANGLING TRUST TEAM ENGLAND FLY FISHING BANK NATIONAL 2026

INNIS FLYFISHERY QUALIFIER VENUE 7th December 2025

Sunday 7th December – A wild, wet and blustery day greeted ten anglers to fish the AT TEFF Bank National (South) Qualifier heat. Each angler fished 8 pegs in total, 4 in the morning, then a break for a cuppa and a pasty before fishing another 4 pegs in the afternoon. Each angler had 40 minutes on each peg with 5 minutes between to allow them to comfortably get to their next peg. The hooter sounded to signal the start and finish of each peg. The peg rotation on Carbis Lake would mean that each angler got to fish around the whole lake in both morning and afternoon sessions. 57 fish were caught giving a great rod average of 5.7. The top rod on the day was Andrew Willoughby, from Torpoint, catching 14 fish off 4 pegs for 18 points. Second was Andy Stones catching 9 fish off 3 pegs for 12 points. Third was Ron Howard catching 8 fish off 3 pegs giving him 11 points. Fourth place went to Alex Johnstone catching 6 fish off 4 pegs for 10 points.

The top four from this heat have qualified to go on to fish the Sourhern Final which will be held in the midlands.

Big Thanks go to all our controllers who kindly gave up their day to ensure that it ran fairly and smoothly.

INNIS v D&DCC ANNUAL COMPETITION 2025

INNIS hosted the first leg of the annual 2 leg competition on Monday 12th May using Carbis Lake…Anglers participating were split into three teams ..INNIS A Team…INNIS B Team and D&DDC. The Innis leg is a Bank Fly Fishing venue whereas the return leg which is held at Wimbleball Resevoir is Boat Fishing. Conditions on arrival looked promising with fish in small shoals were seen cruising in all areas around the lake. With lots of activity on the surface and just under. As the morning progressed it was soon apparent that it was hard to induce a take and if you did hook up trying to get them into the net was difficult. Several catches were lost literally almost on the edge of your landing net. A good pasty coffee tea & cake spread for lunch recharged all anglers for the afternoon session. The afternoon pretty much was a repeat of the morning hard fishing. The tally up of fish caught at end of day was15 in total. INNIS A team winning with 13 points..Paul Nottle(5 fish), Len Nottle(3 fish), Martin Stevens & Jed Stone. Second place was INNIS B team with !0 points & Third was D&DDC team with 4 points. Dave Johns from Innis B team won overall individual with 5 fish off of more pegs than Paul Nottle. Looking forward to the return leg where D&DDC will have the advantage at their own venue. Dave & Theresa would like to thank all who participated in the event.

CONGRATULATIONS INNIS FOURSOME
